USB MIDI Interface

I am having trouble connect my prophecy to my computer to load some sounds. With the USB MIDI Interface i have, it tells me i need to put the IN wire in the OUT of the prophecy, and vice versa. When i plug it into my Korg Pa1x, my computer has a signal. When I do it to the Prophecy there is no signal. I loaded the Factory GLOBAL settings to see if that would work and still no signal. If anyone can please help, i would highly appreciate it.

out port broken? can you send midi data to the prophecy?
