Hi all,
I have compiled a big list of suggestion for future os of pa2x
in the next days my list will be direct to korg italy that will read it and hope decide wich implement will be good. Then I'm sure will be read !!
I have compiled suggestion for add /modify and start now list of bugs
Please add now here your suggestion and of course what you like to have new, and add the bugs you found it.
please not ask something like old suggest of pa1x to add more polipony ,
or some that is impossible.not hardware implement !!
The list is in Italian and I must translate it from english, than please consider that I'm not very good with english, and please add your request using simple english words.
I'm sure that some will be implemented like in past for pa1x

My wishes :
- The ability to display scores (pictures reading ?),
- main volume fade-in & fade-out assignable to switches,
- a bigger storage for performances,
- a real time guitar mode reading midi short sequences (as realguitar does)
- a collection of samples to feed the memory,
and finally a PC software to manage in an easier way all the features of this sophisticated keyboard
Best regards
Jacques

- 4 Guitar multisamples from PA1X back on PA2
- Vocal harmony assignable pedal options like on Pa2
- auto start must switch off after starting the style (at least that must be an option, which can be programmed in songbook or performance
- auto fill option (like on Tyros), when you hit a variation button, a short fill is produced
- new song styles
- new styles, that are usable, (not 10 bossa novas) in all genres.
- the ability to store MP3-1 AND MP3-2 in a songbook entry
- the ability to store MP3 transpose and changed tempo in songbook
- better live-sounding drumkits, with more punch
- bugfree -
- a condensed display-font: at PA1 the visible performance names were longer
- the way an ending or fill starts, like on PA1 OS 3.0, was more logical then now on pa2
etc

A lot of you didnt understand the concept of the REAL GUITAR MODE on PA800
and now i see people wnat a REAL TIME GM which is theoretically impossible.
If you really know what the GM is and learn how to work with it you will find
out that something like that is not possible.
Best regards

@Dragoncaz,
Alex and also I tried to load the sound from Pa1 into PA2.
In PA2 a replacement multisample is loaded automatically.
In tried for hours choosing other guitar multisamples, reprogramming sounds and so on.
Although I thought I finally had programmed a sound that came near to PA1Xpro, recent live gigs proved that the PA1 sound is really better.
(it sounded well on the headphones)
Like in previous posts: the new multisamples (also used in stereo clean guitars) miss a certain attack. They all sound round like jazz guitars. Many of us use kind of Western Guitar Sounds.
On Pa2 these sounds really are missing.
Dragoncaz: you should check the County NU guitar on PA1 and PA2: a world of difference!
Korg should provide these in the resource file together with the first bugfix OS update.
Because: if it ain't broke, don't fix it: Pa2 should be an improvement, but in some ways it is not (yet).

Band in a Box 2008 scans MIDI files, scanning across all tracks, works out the chords, displays them together with any Lyrics and markers in the MIDI file, and will play an additional BiaB Style automatically based on the MIDI file. All in real time. You can interface it so it plays the Pa keyboard using native sounds, plus you can download styles and accompaniment sequences to the Pa keyboard (although this takes some effort and skill).
So, very sorry to contradict you, and please take no offence, but as you can see it is possible. Have a go with BiaB 2008 yourself, it is available from www.pgmusic.com costing $269 USD for the Megapak with all 76 style sets. I think you will quickly become an enthusiast and then you can help with the work some of us are doing at the moment to improve the way you can interface with the Pa keyboards.
Best regards,
Rob

Hi Hubert,hubert76 wrote:1) Scan automatically Chords from Midifiles and display them

Did you consider using a small notebook PC running Band in a Box 2008, interfaced to your Pa1x?
This combination will do the following:
- Display chords in real time from any MIDI file.
Generate automatically in real time the chords to be sent to the Pa arranger/ backing section.
Display MIDI lyrics in any font and any size you want on the PC screen.
Display MIDI markers and repeat marks.
Display any MIDI track or combination of tracks as a score and display and play along with it in real time on the PC screen.
Best regards,
Rob

Rob i know that already and i agree with you but a REAL TIME GM ona a
PA synth is of no use. The way it is in RECORD MODE no way in hell can
be implemented in REAL TIME, unless they come up with something else.
But the way it is in RECORD MODE no way. It is 2 OCTAVES of few strokes,
then you have the TABLATURE editor where you fix your harmonies...can
you please give me an example of this thing being usefull in realtime as it
is now in RECORD MODE? I cant find ONE SINGLE REASON of using it, first
of all you are not able to...how can you play solo and use GM? I dont know
if many people understand the concept of Guitar Mode, it is not something
that you can use live, it is to help achieve better and more propper chords
with guitar sounds, all it is is few strokes...i just dont get it, i am confused,
how can one use this guitar mode the way it is now in real time, it is funny
as hell...all of the strokes are in one ROOT KEY and you telling me you
gonna have time to switch the editor every 5 seconds when you need another
Harmony? I dont think so. You mentioned scanning the notes and chords...
isnt that what GM already does? You hit a C MAJ stroke in the editor and then
in PLAY mode you get all the chords you want? Correct me, i might be wrong.

Hi Nedim,
Yes, confusion all round. I thought your original reply was in answer to this suggestion from Hubert:
Best regards,

And then when I read GM in your answer which immediately followed, I though that GM referred to General Midi as in Midifiles. So sorry about this confusion. We have many sets of things running at the same time on this thread!! I don't get involved in discussions about "Guitar Mode" because sadly I cannot experience this on my Pa1x.1) Scan automatically Chords from Midifiles and display them
2) Display note´s from a selected midifile track
Best regards,
Rob
