help - padkontrol/casio wk3000

Post by drtridr1012 »

hey, i'm new to this whole midi thing, so i was wondering if someone could help me out...

i want to use the padkontrol to trigger sounds on my cheap casio wk3000 synth (it'll do for now, haha), but i can't seem to be able to figure out how to do it.

they are both set on the same midi channel, with a midi cable going from the out of the padkontrol to the in of the synth, so i thought that then when i pressed one of the pads, the corresponding note value would be played on the synth, but there is nothing.

is there something i'm doing wrong? thanks in advance....

From the manual
If you’re using a USB connection, the data from the
computer is transmitted from the padKONTROL’s MIDI OUT
connector. MIDI messages generated by operating the
padKONTROL’s trigger pads and X-Y pad will not be
transmitted from the MIDI OUT connector. (p.28)
So it sounds like you neeed a power adaptor.
