Hi!
I had the opportunity to try the M3 and loved it for the interface, the keyb feel, the realtime control possibilities, the expansion capabilities, and all the stuff.
I'm here just to ask a few questions about the M3 editor...
- is there any way I can try the M3 editor without having an M3?
- what can you do on the editor for the sequencer mode?
- does it works as a librarian, too?
I'm asking that because I use keybs primarly at live gigs, and I have some sequences, too, running in synch (drummer has the click) with the rest of the band. After seeing the Fantom G with its live mode and its sequencer, I wondered what should have been the best solution for me...
thanks a lot,
regards

Ahah, Lorenzo is my GAS-Master, beware of him when you're thinking about buying something new!!
Be sure that he'll convince you that you NEED what you're thinking to buy
Now, please, forgive me and Lorenzo to be such a bad guys here at the forum, and return to the original question

Hi Diego,
** - is there any way I can try the M3 editor without having an M3?
I think you can run the M3 editor without an M3, IIRC I tried that when it came out.
** - what can you do on the editor for the sequencer mode?
It's most just editing the 'Combi' parts of the Sequencer mode. No song/RPPR editing IIRC.
** - does it works as a librarian, too?
Yes.
After using the Trinity/Triton family you'll find the M3 very familiar ...
Daz.

Hi!
Thanks a lot for your response Daz.
I know that it'll be familiar to me, after having the Trinity and then the Triton I found it very easy to use when I first tried it at my local music shop (a part for the Karma2 modules, which I've never used).
BTW, I need to use my keyb in live gigs, but we use sequences, too, and my dream should be not to carry with me always the iBook w/Traveler and the keyboard. If I should find something able to do what I need (like M3 with the editor, or like the Fantom G with the incredible big screen and sequencer) I would be more than happy...
If I have to pain like in hell to write a single sequence on the M3 sequencer I would not go with that solution; on the other hand, if with the editor there is a way to write sequences on my DAW and trasnfer them on the workstation, well...that should be great!

This has nothing to do with the M3 editor. As has been mentioned before, the editor doesn't deal with the sequencer at all - just combis and programs.Diego wrote:If I have to pain like in hell to write a single sequence on the M3 sequencer I would not go with that solution; on the other hand, if with the editor there is a way to write sequences on my DAW and trasnfer them on the workstation, well...that should be great!
I don't use the M3 sequencer, but there must be a way to record externally generated MIDI signals into a sequencer track. Keep in mind that some people buy just the M3 module by itself and they are able to use the sequencer. Once you set it up to record incoming MIDI into a track (and set your MIDI Sync to "external") you should be able to "play" any track that you have set up in your DAW into the M3 and record it. In fact, there is no reason that this shouldn't work in a multi-track situation either.
Hi!
Thanks a lot for your suggestion, it sounds very very nice to me!
I hope I'll have the opportuinity to try as much as possible both M3 and Fantom G before decide which one to go with.
