I am having a problem with the playback quality when using the mp3 feature
I am using the highest bit rate and still getting a bunch of skipping and popping. paixpro is the model that I have. I made sure to get rid of the
static elec. in my body when I installed it. I also opened it a second time after trying it out to make sure I had the ribbon snapped in properly.
Any Ideas will be appreciated. :P

I do not have the cdrw installed. The sound of the playback sounds just
like when I started burning my own cdr's on my first computer, having
buffer under run problems. Anyone have any Ideas?

Hi Robokeys,

I had a similar problem when using some sample RAM that did not meet specifications. You can test if this is the problem, by recording to MP3 some factory styles and sounds (that do not use Sample RAM). Is the crackling and popping still present?

Hi Robokeys,

Did you try to record standard factory styles playing (by themselves)? Did the "snap crackle pop" still occur?
If the problem remains, I promise not to ask if you spilled any Kellogs Rice Crispies inside your Pa1x :-)
Unfortunately, if there is still a problem then I think it is the MP3 board or its connection that is faulty.

Hello Rob
I,m not sure what you mean by styles ,playing by themselves. When I recorded using the mp3 feature I was using a style with the drums ,bass
etc. Do you mean not playing your left hand while using a style? So the
accompaniment does not play? If you don,t hear from me I,ll be away
for daytona bike week. Thanks for your help Mike aka robokeys

Hi,

i think the mp3 problem has nothing to do with "maybe wrong rams".

Because the rams were not used at the moment of recording or playback - they´re only for the samples -> sounds

i think it is a damaged mp3 module - or a damaged harddisk

or

"now my favourite" - a grounding problem - did you ground the mp3-module correctly?

I had a problem with recording mp3 in the way that i always had a tick-tick-tick - noise in my records.

I replaced the original harddisk to a faster and better one - problem gone.

hope that helps
