Any MOD-7 reviews?

Post by Mike Conway »

Did Sound On Sound or anyone else do a review of the MOD-7 synth, yet? The SOS issues run a month or two behind, in the states. (I just picked up the February issue, last week.)

MOD-7 is really fantastic. I'm curious about what reviewers have to say.

Hi Mike,

I purchase SOS every month and alas MOD-7, EXs-3, KO and indeed Oasys 1.3 passed everybody by without so much as a whisper. If memory serves correctly, it was not even mentioned on harmony-central.

It looks to me that Korg did not promote this release. IMO they should have more tightly coordinated the actual release date of all four components, which would have made for a weightier impact.

Kevin.

Thanks, Kevin. If you see something, let me know. It's a deep engine and reviewers usually need a few months head start, from when a particular issue actually comes out.. Hopefully, it's coming.

I have the SOS RSS feeds and they only reported this on Monday 3rd march at 4.03 PM ,they are slow sometimes with certain releases.

4 months is a bit much though. MOD-7 is my fave engine at present on the OASYS, I think its stunning.
Neil.

That's gas. You are both right and I spoke too soon:

A bit slow, but I should not have doubted SOS or Korg.

Cheers,
Kevin.

Someone should definitely give the MOD-7 the review it deserves. That SOS bit doesn't do it justice.

The MOD-7 is one of the best synth engines I've ever heard! It's absolutely amazing. I created a pad on it the other day that sounded like velvet; there's no other way to describe it. It continues to amaze me...
