Not late just delayed :)
Good to hear your musical stories again Tom, this is so emotionally charged.
The arrangement proves that sometimes less is definitely more.
We're all in now, and excellent start.

He's on MPT (music people's time).

I totally agree with chordial. The melody is great. Just before you say "look down" you have this wonderful pause that put's the listener a bit on edge in expectation. I too love your story songs. And your style, as always, is very cool.

Your voice does seem a bit low in the mix and some words are hard to discern, but that is a minor thought here.

Glad you joined us!

Tom, I must confess that I have not listened enough to your other works. The background drone and the subtle keyboard chords makes one focus on the words. You feel like you are all alone with the coyote.

Tom, this is all my personal preferences, and what do I know? I truly wish you had done a B part to the song....that creates an emotional build-up. Perhaps a build up where the singing is crying out...the emotions I hear underneath it all in the song. Perhaps the instruments come in more clear and loudly.....all leading to a crescendo (where we could get some emotional release). This song feels so charged to me. I just think that your style and writting has alot of power. It could blow people away with something like that.

Man, I will catch up with your other stuff later. I wish I could sing. From this song, I see you have a gift with picture songs. I like the images of Heaven edge. You have some real gifts.

I will echo the thoughts already metioned here, you know how I love your poetic style. I think it might have been nice to hear just a few spots where a twinkle of something different came musically, a cascading scale of soft piano, or a short soaring string that fit a spot where the words describe something. Just a thought. Also, in the mix iteself I would have liked it to sound a bit more open and spatial and it seemed a bit too compressed and small. I think it could use more stereo separation for the background music, your voice sounded just fine. That being said I'm glad you did post this piece. If you can post another very quickly I guess you can go on and call this your February tune, but as you posted it in March I'm inclined to mark you off on the (soon to be up) March list. As the Feb is locked. But if you can post another song before the end of March I'll wait for that to check you off for March on the checklist. So glad you finishe this though, it's your signatuer style. You are one of those who I recognize as soon as the song begins. And my hats off to all of us who are writing lyrics. I love your poetry here. It's fun and very well written.

This is very nice.
Totally different, and enjoyable.
I had a bit of trouble decerning the lyrics also, and wished they were just a bit up in the mix, but as Jon said, a minor nit.
Glad you made it.

Hi Tom - glad you made it. Plus minus a day or three - no big deal as you got a complete tune.

Your style is so unique - you are a master of stories in melody :)

There are a couple of places in the background - very faint - is this what sounds like tapping - it starts and stops. Also, I noticed is that the ending is cut off while it fades.

I didn't have any problems making out the words though - but maybe the final mix could use some tweaking to make the vocals a bit more clear.

Hi Tom

This song has such a beautiful melody that I was imagining myself doing an instrumental arrangement of it....since I can't sing. I would have liked to have a copy of the lyrics - I missed some of the words here and there.

I heard the tapping sound too, and......I thought it was someone knocking at the door and went off to open it  .... good trick Tom, I fell for it!

Hi Tom,

Well, the sound of your vocals becomes an increasing factor for genius... for the art sounds you use with every song you produce are singular..I can only be amazed and be so very glad I had a chance ro hear this...The true care and NATURAL understanding of the anticipation of the vocal, in subtle ...CHORDAL passing tones,... is something people work on for years to accomplish!..The chordal structure is out of the storybooks, it is so tied to the idea you present. The almost hidden percussion is a PLUSSSS!

I have never found more certain creation than in your songs, and I cannot give you ANYTHING to improve. The essence as a single occurence of art that IS what it is, and this is for me and my past, the answer to music..no matter what else may come into the end product. All of that pales beside the simplicity, and the MUSIC!

Of course, your extraordinary lyrics are the REAL answer to this wonder...They alone bring this whole genre to fruition...and you just do not fail in this genre..

So GOOD to hear from you!!! ellll (John) :D :D
