Hi everyone im a complete novice with regards to using my korg triton extreme with my apple imac computer and so any advice given would be most welcome.
What i want to do is to be able to play the songs i have written on my korg triton extreme in garageband but to keep all the original instruments from the korg triton extreme so that i can record vocals over this track using garageband. So in effect i want to transfer the audio files and not the midi files which are presently being transfered at the moment. As everytime i try to do this i get the songs playing back using the garage band instruments which i do not want. i just want to use garageband as a recording device to lay vocals over a backing track from the korg triton extreme.
Many thanks,
James.

re: Triton w/Garageband
It sounds to me like what you need to do is set up an audio recording track in Garageband, and record the sound coming out of the Triton when you tell it to play one of the songs you created in it.
Then you can add another new audio track in Garageband for the vocals, and record onto it from an attached microphone, while it plays back the other audio track containing the music.
MIDI is simply a computerized form of musical notation. You can think of a MIDI file as the computer's version of sheet music.
When you use a program like Garageband to "play back" MIDI, it will simply use its own internal instruments to do it. It has no other way to deal with it, because the MIDI data tells it things about which notes were played and how long they were sustained, how long the silence is between them, etc. It doesn't, however, contain any physical information about the SOUND the notes should be making.

Hi Kingtj,
Thanks for your response. How do i set up an audio recording track in Garageband to record the sound/song coming out of the korg triton extreme? Because your right thats exactly what i need as then i could add the vocals on another track and then have a completed song.
Many thanks,
James.
