infected files, maybe?

Post by kory »

I think I have a virus. When I turn the pa-80 on, the display shows NO Styl and I will have to select a style from one of the banks to start playing. Also I cannot load new files on my user 3 bank and it shows some files which when selected gives me amessage STYLE SELECT FAIL, PRESS EXIT. I have loaded the new OS, and restore files from korg website, but the user 3 still contains these files. How would I get rid of these bad files? thanks, KORY

You have to reinstall OS and Musical Resources and it will be ok.
As for no Style on Start Up just forget it, even after instalation
the first time you turn on it will be ok then back to the same.

Hi, have the same problem as Kory and Pnaffas.
However when i go to user 3 I can play these files that I cannot delete.
I HAVE RELOAD THE OS and the Musical Resources (many times), but it doesnt work, the user 3 data is still there! I ve tried with setting the protections ON/OFF and then saving something else - now, after I install something over it, it works, however if I turn the keyboard OFF, and then ON again the new data that I have saved previously at user3 are gone, and the old onec(that I am trying to delete) come back again.

I read something in the section about the protections, about some ".GLB" file that I have to load, but havent tryed that yet. Where I get this ".GLB" file?

Please if some one know how to fix these problem?
Thanks

Try reload resource files, but use only original from korgpa.com.

what was the command for a total erase memory in pa50/80? sort of general reset. wipe out the whole content.

Is this the Musical resource files, the one that come on 5 diskets? If yes, I have the original once from Korg, but what happen is when I reload them (and this is the same as if I reload any other file over it) they do become available, however every time I restart the keyboard, the old once come back again!!! I have reinstall the OS as well sever times since then but it doesnt help either.

What is this command for the total erase?

Be aware that a total wipe will also make you all loose your saved files and patches, but here it is;

When re-installing the OS and the screen says "install from diskette - press enter" instead you should press "Fade In". This will wipe your SSD and you will have to start from scratch, also loading all resources.

Good luck.
