hello working with a korg d1600 and suddenly the following message appears when i start up.
please initialise harddisk, when i do this i will loose all work on the harddrive. some songs are not backuped yet.
is there a possibilty to retrieve this data/songs .i have access to another d1600. can i take harddisk out and connect it with external harddiskcase and usb?

maybe your hard disk is damaged, if you do have access to another d1600 try transfering and see if it works, i had the d1600 for almost 3 years and never had a problem with the included 40gigs HD.

i had similar problem. It was caused, it seems, by overheating of the hard drive. I tend to work for hours on end.

I eventually bought another hard drive and have had no problems since then - approx three weeks ago.

I my situation the problem seemed to be down to hard drive malfuction.

If you let the drive cool down it should work for a short while.

cheers
