And one of the main reasons i went out and bought TEX 1+ year ago, was seeing STUDIO get os updates periodically, thinking same would be happening with TEX. That expectation was short lived...

(just like bying X3 in the 90's only to find that the PCM expansion cards were discontinued and no where to be found).

Deppends when you bought the EXTREME since already is an OLD synth.
It is discontinued LONG AGO...there would be no OSs, i know its new to
you and it looks new and its modern and great but its still OLD!

The Extreme uses the same engine as the Studio.
Since most of the refinements had already been made on the Studio,
there wasn't that much that needed to be addressed on the Extreme.
That of course, is a matter of opinion.
Korg put out a product, that in their minds, was quite up to date, or couldn't be updated
any further.

When Korg put out version 1.05, that was a good sign that updates were at an end,
as there wasn't anything there, but bug fixes regarding CF cards.

As Nedim said, it's an OLD synth.
But, a great one.

When Korg starts to put out newer synths/workstations, expect less or no updates to previous models.

Triton OS

Post by sreedharrmenon »

Thank You everyone for their input.

I really hope KORG comes with OS upgrade for the triton series of workstations, at least thats the keyboard that gave KORG the standards and recognition today. Triton, being one of the best keyboards, with some OS upgrade, it can really do miracles.

However, as of now, i guess, we can only pray for a change in OS.

Thank you once again

i think 2.0 would have been a better number to end with...1.5 always will leave users feeling led down..
