KORG ZER 8. MIDI CHANEL FEEDBACK PROBLEMS.. PLEASE HELP!!

Post by Ryan Johnson »

Helloooo!!!

Ive Had This Problem For Quite A While Now And I Havent Been Able To Remedy It.
I Have Set Up My Korg Zero 8 So That I Have Used Chanel No.1 As My Master Out So That I Can Que Through The Rest Of The Chanels. I Have Set Up Two Midi Chanels To Do Basic Mixing Through.
Chanel 1 Is Audio( Foe The Queing Problem) 2,3,4, & 5 Are Set To Midi And 6,7 & 8 Are Audio.
The Problem Is When I Turn Chanel 2 To Audio My Midi Sound Stops. Also The Visibal Feedback Whilst Playing Midi Through Chanel 4 Is Showing In Chanel 2. Everything Is Playing Through Chanel 2. Why Is This. Are My I/o Chanels Not Set Up Properly. Pleeeeeeease Help Me, This Is Getting Beyond A Joke Now And My Head Hurts :-(

Ryan

P.s If This Is Really Simple And Im Being Thick Then I Appologise.

Which program are you using to play? Ableton Live??

I believe you will need to work with your audio routing in your software. When I use Ableton, I have my routing set up as follows:

Channel 1 - 6 are set to MIDI

Channel 7 is set as MIDI, but I route the master output to this channel in Ableton.

Channel 8 is set as Audio. In Ableton, I route the Cue output to this channel.

hi, in ableton yes.

i have my cue out to chanel 1 (1/2) and i have specified my master to 2 (3/4).i am now able to cue through the headphones but the visibal output (blue LED) form the master is coming out of chanel 2 (3/4) i now think this is why whenever i try and put an effect on my midi chanel that im controling from ableton its not working. BUT when i put the effect on chanel 2, the one where the master is set to it makes the desired effect.

this is a maaaaaasive floor. Im soooooooooo angry about this. please let there be a remedy to this. if not KORG better bring out a download to sort this out. its a pain in itself having to loose one chanel through the cueing problem aswell as now dissabling the effects function, the main thing that KORG is selling this product on.

at the minute, im not happy :-(

if this problem is not fixed V.shortly i may consider taking this mixer back in exchange for an Allen and Heath xone 3d.
hopefully there wont be 18 problems with that if i do.

but on the plus side, if any of the korg wizzkidz on this forum have any ideas that may help me I would be very greatfull!!!

thanks korg members!!!!

KORG------ SORT THIS OUT!!!!!

:-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

The Allen & Heath is a much better mixer, no doubt. But I would not recommend it unless you have an Apple computer. Their drivers for PC are s**t. I had to return my A&H because the drivers would crash Windows XP every 2 minutes.

There will not be a fix for the Cueing channel issue. This is simply an aspect of the design. You will have to accept this as-is, or trade in for another mixer.
