MAC LegacyCell problem: it's getting muted all the time.
Hi, tried to search the forum, but couldn't find any straightforward info (or I'm just too dumb to use the search function).
Anyway, I've been suffering from LegacyCell forgetting its settings in Logic. This VERY annoying bug has been following me from Logic 7 to Logic 8, from PPC to Intel. Is there any cure for LegacyCell's amnesia?
(OSX 10.4.11, Intel and PPC)

I have the same problem in Logic 8.
The only workaround I have is to write in a program change (not the one I want to use) and then a few clicks later to write in the program change that I want.
That solves the mute problem when when I reopen the project. For some reason LegacyCell doesn't want to play any sounds until after you've changed the program. Then it works OK.
Anyway, my workaround works for me. I hope this helpful for you too.

Thanks, unfortunately almost everything keeps on changing in my sequences depending on the situation, I like to tweak the LegacyCell quite a bit and I should be saving patches constantly to get your trick working. I'll use that, though, meanwhile. Thanks for that.reddog wrote:I have the same problem in Logic 8.

It's actually very funny: I know quite a few Legacy Collection users and everyone has their LegacyCell acting up. All aforementioned producers - four, that is - use Intel and PPC Macs and have long ago quitted using LegacyCell, instead, they use NI Kore software (which I don't have). Why, oh why is it so damn hard have this VERY annoying bug fixed? Just this one, please?

I use the Legacy Collection (Analog 2007 and Digital Editions), including the Legacy Cell structure, without any of these problems on OS X 10.4.11 running on a Mac Pro Quad Xeon 2.66 GHz and on a G4 dual 800.
Host is not Logic though, but Digital Performer 5.13.
Kind regards.

I should add that I also use KLC with Cubase SX3 and don't have any problems with LegacyCell, so it's a Logic issue, although Pete, it sounds like you have more problems than I do.
LegacyCell is only muted for the first program change after I open the project - then after that it functions as it should. So for me it's only a very minor nuisance that is easily remedied.
Sorry my workaround wasn't the solution for you.

It was confirmed yesterday: all other users with this bug are Logic users as well. Actually, it doesn't surprise me at all. Logic just happens to be a pile of dune bugs.reddog wrote:I should add that I also use KLC with Cubase SX3 and don't have any problems with LegacyCell, so it's a Logic issue, although Pete, it sounds like you have more problems than I do.
Dave: what's your host software? Is it Logic?
Barking at the wrong tree - again, it seems, though I have to admit that this is really starting to annoy me. I've had this bug right from the start. I bought the Analog Collection years ago, with the controller, and everything else works perfectly, except LegacyCell. Bummer. Just earlier today my SynchroSoft key wasn't seen. There was a red led but none of the Korg software saw it. Arturia's Jupiter and Prophet did, though. This is going to be a long day...

A friend from a local music shop is stopping by later today, I'm going to give a try for Kore.

If this bug only happens in Logic, it doesn't follow that it must be a Logic bug. It could just as easily be a Legacy Cell bug.
The fact that other plugins don't "forget settings" in Logic suggests that it is more likely to be a bug in the Legacy Cell.
You really need to try and vent your frustration toward Korg so something can be done about it, rather than just throwing names at particular hosts.

Well, instead writing to Korg, I tried to find some help faster writing here. I didn't want to cause any waves or splash water, I'm just a bit too busy working right now (and here I am, writing on a forum...) and trying to cope with buggy software. A bit like having an axe with a dodgy handle. I can handle Logic's bugs, but that doesn't belong to a Korg forum and is a totally different thing. Right now LegacyCell is the only plugin not working properly, dozens, if not hundreds of others are all 100% good. Unfortunately, I'm dealing with a project involving a myriad of LegacyCells and I'm facing this daily, every time I open a new file.Ben Hall wrote:You really need to try and vent your frustration toward Korg so something can be done about it, rather than just throwing names at particular hosts.peter_lowland wrote:Logic just happens to be a pile of dune bugs.
Besides, Korg already has a bug report from me. Dated about two years ago.

If someone has the "Real Korg God" address, please tell me. I'd really like to be in contact with a person, not an auto-reply thingy and will stop flooding the forums.
I'll go and have an ice cream now. Sorry, guys, for shouting.
And Dave: damn, I can''t read.

edit: tested Digital Performer, LegacyCell works. Unfortunately I've got no time to learn & do my stuff on a new DAW.

Can you believe? It's already October and nothing from Korg. I suppose my mails are in the spam folder. Yo, anyone, any similar experiences? Any help?peter_lowland wrote:Well, instead writing to Korg, I tried to find some help faster writing here..Ben Hall wrote:You really need to try and vent your frustration toward Korg so something can be done about it, rather than just throwing names at particular hosts.peter_lowland wrote:Logic just happens to be a pile of dune bugs.
