how do you assign the knobs and the xy pad?

also, what about the flam & roll etc

you can assign the pads to do more than just notes, right?

What controller are you two using? padKontrol, microKontrol or Kontrol49? It might make a difference if you have changed the scene setup on your controller.

In general, you open up Ableton Live, bring up the preferences window, click Midi / Sync, make sure the Track and Remote fields are On for Port A and B from your controller.

Then close the preferences window, click MIDI in the top right corner of the screen.

Now select what you want the pad, knob, slider etc to control, and hit the relevant pad, or jiggle the slider / knob. It is now assigned.

Hit the MIDI button in the top right again. Now you can test your assigned control.

Enjoy!

I would not have guessed that.. I don't even know what the A B and remote things refer to.

thanks a lot..

now the only thing left - I can't seem to get the flam or roll things to work. is there some sort of setting up I need to do onboard the padKONTROL

..that's what I'm using, btw. padKONTROL
