MIDI to USB

Post by Five Step path »

So I heard that you can buy a midi to usb adapter and control the Electribe as a midi controller using pc programs like ableton live and fl studio.
Is this true? Has anyone played around with this yet? And if anyone has, can you please explain it more to me on how it functions with the software?

Thanks ;]

Sure, look into something like the M-Audio MIDISport 1x1 or Uno.

yeh, I've been sussing this one out as well. I think how it works is some software that u get with it can evan translate different CC messages, and it acts as a virtual patch bay though not necessarilly a midi controller as such, though something similar..?, I've posted a similar question under the sticky subject "midi connections", I don't have a midi router yet though was planning on getting a "midisport 8 by 8".......I wanted to be able to controll my nord lead 2 rack with KB parts 1/2 on my esx, and one of my emx KB parts sequences a novation a station, and my mc909 sequences a triton rack......but i want to be able to have some type of total controll over these grooveboxes via live 7...program change, maybe a few other things....is this possible....??
