Translator Mac UB OSX now with Triton Support

Post by chickeneps »

Chicken Systems announces that with the Translator Mac Beta (Universal Binary), full support for converting into Korg Triton format is now included.

This beta is available to all Translator registered users, you can request it by emailing support@chickensys.com and supplying your codes.

Chicken Systems Translator Mac has always supported Triton; however, the previous non-UB version had a fairly limited set of source formats. The new UB version changes that. These are the same comprehensive conversions that are in the Translator Windows product; supporting practically every source format available. A short list includes Giga, Kontakt, EXS, Reason, SoundFont, Akai MPC, S-5000, S-3000, Recycle, ACID, AppleLoops, Emu, Roland, Ensoniq, HALion, and much more.

Using premade sampled instruments is an excellent way to expand your Triton's already excellent sound-generating capacities.

Currently the Triton M3 .pcg format is not supported yet, but that is currently being worked on. You can still use the .kcs/.kmp/.ksf files that Translator generates, however, although they tend to be linked in to the way the .pcg wants to see them.

Chicken Systems plans several new products targeted specifically at the Triton, Mac and Windows, during the course of this summer 2008.

For more information, contact Chicken Systems at support@chickensys.com.

This is good to see...I was just thinking about the need to start using samples with my extreme. It would make it that much more effective in live performances, even if it's just a couple of good samples (like a decent oboe, and maybe orch strings).
