Loading and Using a Sample (wav) Tutorial?

Post by Civilian »

Hi Guys,

I have recently purchased a Triton LE, 64MB RAM and a memory card. (No sampling add-on)

I have a few .wav files on my memory card which the triton will load, but once loaded I have no idea where to find them/assign them to keys.

Is there a Tutorial on how to do this? or could someone write up a quick how-to?

Thanks
chilly

Not any better there, and I speak from experience.

I would rather buy an instrument based on it's performance, quality and craftsmanship rather than how active the community was for it.

Tr can not play wav files without smpl board...
But there is a program called AWAVE where you can convert wav, aif and many other sound files into korg triton files, asign them to any note you want, stretch them, loop....etc.... Then you can copy that converted samples into TR via memory card. Load them, and play...
I'm new to this sampling thing myself, and im still learning, i'm sampling some sax sounds right now, so i can make tut when i'm done, maby it will help.

It's not true that this forum is dead, i had some questions, and there are some really good and smart people on this forum who helped me, maby they just dont have enough time to be here every day.

It is because your question is not straight.

I remember your qustion-regarding loading samples.
So you want to load samples or multisamples?

As far as multisamples-they are factory default dedicated to each synth/keyboard model.
So they will be in built in memory of keyboard.

If you want to load samples, sampled from triton studio then you need sampling board installed in your TR.

if your triton loads it then you will have it in RAM.

Go to program basic page see Osc- Change ROM to RAM and you will be able to assign the loaded file.

But i dont think you will be able to play wav without sampling board installed.

You need to convert wav to korg format. For this use the Awave Studio program (Windows).

You can load wav files into TR's memory, but you can not use them without sampling board. In order to use wavs in Korg w/o sampling board, you must first convert them into korg format. The best (and probably the only) program for that is Awave Studio as demonp said.

In Awave Studio you import samples from whatever format (Akai, Roland etc or just raw wavs), set keymap and other sampler related parameters, then save your work as Triton Script file. Save it to SD card, put the card into Korg and load script file. After that you will see your multisample in RAM section. Just go to OSC page of program editing.
If it ain't broken, don't fix it!

My manual says how i can add multisamples to my tr but source of this simples is unknown.....
Sorry for my english, i am jast study it in college in Canada now.
Well i don't understand what is the diifferent between multisamles and jast samples
but here what i want:

1)Triton Exreme has 962 multisamples, but my crup has 470
so i want all that 962 multisamples from triton, becouse thay both use the same sound engine(HI synthesis system)
so question is where can i get it in internet.
I don't have Triton Extreme becouse i never ask this question if i had it

2) Why i want multisamples from Triton Extreme, becouse i belive that thay have good quality, i don't want self-made simples

3) If you have any other sourses where i can get multisamples with very good quality i will be happy too( by he way he what i have found http://www.irishacts.com/ezypal/index.p ... _libraries )

As you saw in other post, as Sharp said it is illegal.

Triton Extreme has 250 mb of samples in ROM
TR has 64. Sample memory can be only 64 megs. It is still not enough.
Better get a second hand Extreme.

I can't answer Sharp in locked topic, but it is possible to make own samples from Extreme and use it for own purpose. There are a lot of information about how to make samples from other synth on the net.
