I'll champion this cause...I'm perfect for it.
I need an Idiots Guide to using MIDI CC#'s with the EMX.
Hell...I'll go one further. I need an Idiots Guide and probably a set of puppets to guide me thru that. I won't lie to you.
I love that little blue bastard, but I'm getting the feeling that one of us is smarter than the other, and the fact that I'm in the other room typing this so the other doesn't see me should tell you where this is going...
Laugh all you want (just don't point while you do it).

the electribe will respond to midi messages on channel 1-5 for anything on the right side for synth parts.... what this means is that if you want to change the level of synth part 1, you would send a midi cc message 7 on midi channel 1.... if you want to do it to part 4, then send midi cc 7 on channel 4.
On the korg website there's a midi implementation guide that has all the cc's listed.
One catch is that drum parts are all on midi channel 10 and they are NOT midi cc messages, they are a special type of midi message called nrpn. nrpn is actually a set of three or four midi cc messages which have to be processed before you can use them.
Pretty simple really, are you trying to make a controller work with the emx?

Correct.
Currently scratching the surface of Live 7.0, but would like to buy a MIDI Keyboard for control. Since posting, I've read more articles, and understand a bit more about it.
The EMX is a wonderful box, I'd just like to know more before I buy.
The use of CC#'s and automation in Live has been a challange for me.
