A beatiful music Sunday

Post by Diego »

I just want to share with you the beautiful day I had yesterday with this amazing vocal group: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WY2Lti4xqgw
Listen to their "Giant Steps": http://www.myspace.com/clustervocal I guess it's one of the most perfect vocal arrangment I've ever listened.

I've seen them Saturday night at a concert, and yesterday they took a masterclass, they talked about their influences and the history of a-cappella music, about how they write their arrangments, about vocal percussion (2 of them are considered to be on the top 5 of greatest italian mouth drummers), and other things...
Finally they took 5 of us and made us sing their version of "Halleluja" (J. Buckely), it was hard, but simply beautifull!
Here you are the video: http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/224179/Halleluya.mov (I'm the one with the USA crew neck on the left, you can see me just at the beginning, but you'll ear me...I sang too much loud for a vocal group...I was the tenor, but I'm a bariton, so these lines were really high for me to sing  )

Spread Cluster, because they really worth a listen!

Awesome.... I love Cluster's Giants Steps! I now will be watching these guys.

I come from a vocal background. You would never know it from the way I sing. I grew up singing accapella spiritual songs all my life. The people I sing with are talented and I am just another bass or tenor. There are few things more fun than singing harmonies with a group talented friends.I thought about submitting some accapella songs for OSAM but none of ours songs are original. When I get to play on an Oasys, I love playing with the jazz scat singers programs. It is always fun!

I truly enjoyed getting to see you guys perform. Keep them coming!

Yes, you're right: Giant Steps is really amazing!
If you have some vocal arrangments I would be glad to give a look, and to sing them with my vocal group!
