keyboard stand?

Post by Sam CA »

I have this keyboard stand:

http://www.zzounds.com/item--ULTAX48

It's pretty solid, and I like it. I have a Triton Studio which is pretty heavy, and a PA800. What's nice about this stand is that you can adjust the height levels for both keyboards. The Triton studio has midi "in/outs" right in the middle in the back against the solid back bone of the stand and it makes it impossible to midi it , unless you pull it forward on the Arms which is not a very good idea. I've seen some other designs, but either they look too thin to support 2 keyboards, or they're not flexible to adjust the heights....i wanted to know if there's a better kbd stand that you're aware of?

Hi Assyrianpianist,

I have also been using the same stand for quite some time. I now only have the Pa800 but I had a Triton as well and they both adjusted perfectly. And yes you did mentioned the best thing and that is the adjustment of height. For me, this is probably the best fit for two keyboards to rest.

As for the midi thing, how about switching places for both the keyboards i.e. move Pa800 on top and Studio underneath it, if that is not the case as yet. This way, since Studio is way heavy than Pa800, you might be able to pull the Studio a bit forward while balancing the weight on the stand.

yeah, i dont' like to pull it forward, but looks like that's the best design out there at the moment. So , i'll just do that then

That was my first stand Assyrianpianist.
However back then i had a PA1X and extreme. Problem was, while playing standing up, in order to comfortably see and play pa1x/screen, i had to raise the top keyboard (extreme), but that created an issue since the tiers don't lean forward, so then i could no see the screen of the extreme, if that makes sense. So then i bought Quiklok 2 tier one, and have been happy ever since.

They're pretty solid stands, folds away easy and height and tilt are very customizable. Also have a look at the Spider stands.

Emir, i saw this on a website , but the upper arms looked so fragile in the picture. I know what you mean about the screen issue. you think the upper arms can easily/safely handle a pa 800?

hey Sina,
looks like with this stand you can tilt the arms little bit, which is nice, but the main coulmn is just like the one i have right now. Unfortunately, triton studio has it's midi inputs/outputs right in the middle where the column stands.

I use this stand. I have one at home and one at church. The Pa2X looks great on it, and it's very stable.

Hi Keith,

I like the look of Richard Bower's dual KBD stand. Do you know who supplies the stand and the accessory arms for the second tier?

Many thanks,
Rob

Hi Keith,

Thanks a lot - yes I read your original message which at that time did not have the link. Thanks a lot for adding it. The stand looks very nice and is on special offer so I will get one. I needed to support both my Pa2x and M3-73.

Best regards,
Rob
