My band has been using a Korg MS2000 for years. We'd never done anything beyond turning the knobs to find sounds we like and sometimes saving them. Only recently have I updated the OS and used patchbuddy to save the sysex files. We are at a point that learning to use MIDI may really help us.
What I'm trying to understand is:
Is it possible to edit Korg patches/sequences on a computer and then upload it to the MS2000? Is there software that will even do this?
I've never used a MIDI or sequencing software, so I'm not sure where to start.
An ideal situation is to make our own sequence (kind of like what some of the factor settings have) that we can write and play with through part of or the whole song.
I've been reading forums and scouring the internet trying to understand this and I'm still not making the connection. I see there is an editor for the microKorg but not the MS2000... is there anything that will work with the MS2000?
Thanks!
Possible to Edit MS2000 on Computer? PLEASE Help

I used to use the now defunct SoundDiver with the MS2000; tricky to get hold of nowadays.
Another option -> http://www.squest.com/Windows/Instrumen ... index.html
There is no Korg provided editor like there is for the mK.

Thank you Daz, much appreciated.
I did come across Sound Quest and it seems like an interesting option (though if I remember kind of pricey considering my needs).
I haven't worked with midi much and didn't know if it was standard for various synths to be automatically addressed by most sequencing software.
thanks

the ms2000 sends out individual cc's for every single knob therefor it is its own dedicated interface which is why i suspect you don't see any midi vstis or standalone editors for it. it's really easy to automap and record the controllers on the ms2000 because it sends/recieves all the same info. it'd be relatively easy to create a midi controller vsti in synthedit for making things even quicker.
