saving my traspose in songbook mode

Post by ROBOKEYS »

I am having a problem in songbook mode saving my transposition of the song
for a style i,m using. Lets say I,m playing the song in key of C But
I want to sing it in the key of Bflat So I go to song book edit page #1
and set the transpose to -2 which should give me my key of b flat and I hit the write command. When I reopen that song in my song book to play
it goes back to the key of C and does not go down -2 octave to play in the key of Bflat. If I go to the edit page #1 in the songbook it shows
the transpose at -2 but yet it plays in the key of C Do I have to chnge something in global mode? :(

Hi Rob.
I'm new to Korg but here go's!

1. Go to 'Global Settings'' - General Controls - Lock page

'Unlock Master Transpose'' which is on the 'Tuning Page'' top r/h side

2. Enter 'Songbook Window' - Book Edit Page1

3. Top r/h corner drop down menu - Enable List Edit

4. Alter THE transpose to your choice

5. Tick the square box that says 'Write Current Resource'

6. press the Write Button.

Job done

Just tried this on my pa2x and it works OK.....

:D

transpose in songbook mode

Post by ROBOKEYS »

Keith
Thanks for your reply.I did get it to save my transpose after unlocking
the master transpose, but i did not hit the enable list edit tab. I will try it your way. I just received the 3 dvd,s korg arranger secrets today.
I just got through dvd #1 last night. Great job Rob,Sharp, paul and whom ever
worked on these quality produced videos! I did notice that it worked good as long as I was using one of the4 sts sounds but when I changed to a diferent
performance sound it also changed back to the acutal key that I was playing in. Thanks Mike

Hi Rob. This is how I've done it. You select the song in songbook then EXIT and then change your STS. Go back to the songbook and Highlight/Select the same song, put a tick in the sts box to sts 1/2/3/4 [repeat the procedure for each sts you wish to change] of choice on the book edit1 screen and then press WRITE. Just done this on my pa2x and it works OK. :D

Hi Mike [Rob]. Just found out that you have to have Master Transpose permanently unlocked. All the transposes then work in the songbook. If you relock the MT then the songbook transposes disappear. Unlock it again and they all reappear. :D

Tested this in my pa2x.

Saved some songbook transposes with MT unlocked and then relocked MT.....Turned keyboard OFF and back On, went to Songbook and no Transposes.
Unlocked MT and the songbook transposes were all back where they should have been.....

:D
