I'm trying to follow the procedure outlined in http://karma-lab.wikidot.com/korg-m3:sw ... in-a-combi to switch a Timbre on and off in a Combi.
I'm trying to use Method 2, which doesn't require editing the source programs. It uses an insert effect (configured to do nothing other than pass or block the sound) as the switching device.
I followed the procedure, but it just doesn't work. The insert effect goes to the "off" state, but doesn't turn "on" when I press SW2.
I set the Gain Adjust to -Inf, and set the Src to SW2. I tried setting the Amt: to 0 as the article said, but no sound is passed regardless of the setting of SW2. I tried setting Amt to +99 (it changed itself to +63). Still nothing when SW2 is on. Then I changed Src to KnobM4. Knob4 works to control the volume of the Timbre! (however all the control is from knob position 12:00 to 5:00).
So the technique does actually work for some AMT sources, but just not a switch. But I really want to use SW2.
Is there some obscure setting for enabling SW2? Under Track Parameters, MIDI Filter 4, the Enable SW2 boxes are checked the Timbres I'm using.
In the Insert page (IFX2) the Ctrl Ch: is set to the default Gch.
I also tried using SW2 as the AMT for Wet/Dry (Wet would be Off, and Dry would be On), but that didn't work either.
What am I missing?

Nobody has any clues on this? I'm using the knob as a workaround, but I'd still like to understand why this doesn't work as expected.
What is the equivalent value of SW1 or SW2 when used as a mod SRC? Shouldn't it turn the "Amt" value on and off? I.E. when the switch is On, you get the value in Amt, when the switch is off, you get 0?

I ran thru this example. The one change I had to make to get it to work was to set the Amt: to 64. If you leave it @ 0 or some other lower # it doesn't work.

I finally found the fix for this. There is one more setting that is required to make this work, and is not mentioned in the original article. Menu P4 (Edit Zone/ Ctrl), Tab "Controller". Under Panel Switch Assign, SW2 must be set to SW2 Mod CC#81.
Otherwise you can't use SW2 to control the gain of the Insert Effect.
