I have my kaoss pad setup through the send return ports of my djm-600 mixer. I have the switch on the back of my kaoss pad set to send and the cords are plugged into the appropriate line in - line out / send-return slots as per the user manual. However, the problem I have encountered is that when I turn on the send return effect on the mixer that the volume of whatever is playing is turned down until I begin pressing on the kaoss pad to add effects, at this point the track volume is played and the set kaoss pad effect volume. So the only way for send-return to continue playing my track at volume is to be using the kaoss pad while the effect is switched on. Otherwise there is no sound at all. It doesnt perform like the other effects where I can just turn down the effect level without affecting overall track volume.
So basically my question is that how do I activate the send-return function for the pad without it affecting the volume of the track which is currently playing.
This is kind of difficult to explain and I hope it made sense.
Send-return volume problem

Perhaps my problem is related to another post that I read about adjusting wet and dry? Im not really sure what wet and dry is but after reading the threads associated with this topic it does sound related...

I was just reading the manual today (on a completely unrelated issue), but the paragraph describing your issue was one I skimmed over.
The Send <-> Direct switch on the back is what you want to change. According to the manual, the "Send" setting sends ONLY effected signal, so if you have no effect enabled, then no signal is output. The "Direct" setting gives a mix of source and effected signal through the KP3 outputs.
The way you've set it up IS as they recommend in the manual, however it's contingent on you mixing your wet/dry ratio on the mixer, and not in the KP3. If you want to do it your way (on the KP3), switch the unit to "Direct.
Hope this helps, if this isn't what you wanted, apologies in advance.

Genre doesn't matter. A good tune is a good tune.
