How do you overdub?

Post by sjoens »

Hi, I'm new to this forum and to the D888.

I can't figure out how to listen to track 1 while recording on track 2. When I arm 2 for recording, 1 cuts out. I monitor thru headphones. I've used many analog multitrackers and have never had this problem. The manual gives little help on this.

Is something wrong with me, my D888 or is it just not possible?
Thanks for your expert help.

Did you change the mic into the channel 2 input? In D888 the mic/line inputs are connected straght to the tracks. If your mic is connected to input 1 you can only record to track 1 and if your mic is connected to input 2 you can only record to track 2.

Yup, I knows dis. Well, I tried it again and it works just fine now. Not sure what I did wrong before. Probably didn't hit the right sequence of buttons. Thanks for the help.
