Mini review of the Korg DS 10.
First off all you need a Nintendo dualscreen in order to run the software.
After booting the DS with the Korg module you can choose with how many persons you would like to play. I choose single person. Then you have to pick a song number to work in, or choose a demo to show what it is capable of.
You can alter a lot of things; number of steps per beat, legato, panning etc. You can insert notes on a pianoroll manager, or do it on the keyboardscreen. You can also use the kaosspad to insertnotes. The kaoss pad can be used or several functions like cutoff and resonance.
Like the original you can patch up modules to alter the sound. All in all good fun, and a remarkable sound quality. There are plenty of slots to safe your work. The only ommision is the abcense of midi, but he at €40,= we don complain.
I'm not a gamer at all but bought the Nintendo for the Korg DS 10 aplication. I love spending my time with it, and it's simplicity helps to be creative. I also own a full blown music PC running Cubase SX 2.2 and a Yamaha RM1x sequencer, but these are both technical, and that takes away the expierence of making music the easy way. I love them both, but the DS 10 is more intuïtive.
If you already own a DS or a DS lite, try the Korg DS10 – you will have value for money, and a lot of fun!!! If you don't own a DS, go out and buy one!!!

IMHO the DS-10 is the first true classic analog synth of the 21st century!
IMHO it even blows away a classic original Minimoog! Its feature set is outrageous! Consider the minimoog had no s/h or lfo with a s/h waveform
no vco sync and no matrix modulation ..when you add the 3 kaoss pad modes including the programmable matrix modulatiopn for kaoss pad mode 3 there is no comparison.

I'm still digging deeper in the possibilities of the DS10. This is so powerful!!! As I stated before it's a pity it doesn't have midi. Another to get around is to use a beat detector in a DAW to sync it to a song. It is also good for the inspiration, although it is not easy to recreate the sounds on my Korg R3. In fact I haven't succeeded yet to do so.
Maybe the legacy pack from Korg can do a good job too. But I just love to carry a mini idea studio around to work wherever I want. Maybe it would be nice to have a special forum for the DS10......

Hi everyone, I've had my Korg DS-10 a wee while now and I just love it. It's so intuitive and so much fun. I'm still exploring the feature packed DS-10 that I've still loads of fun to be had, yeehaa!
