Half working sounds

Post by malee »

Hi!

I have Triton Extreme 76. Mostly I use sampled sounds, but recently I found that some of ROM sounds don't work.
It seems that all sounds defined in Progs, in OSC1 don't work. Only sounds defined in OSC2 works!

Please help. What can I do?!
Thanks to all in advance.
Sorry about english.

Regards,
Danijel

Hello.
Technically this is not possible because there's no setting or situational where you can do that.

1: So.... Save save your custom sounds to disk somewhere and turn off your Triton.
2: Next, press and hold down the ENTER and 0 buttons together.
3: Turn on your Triton.
4: After 5 seconds let go of the ENTER and 0 buttons.
5: When your Triton boots up the memory will be blank with a default Piano type sound in every memory location. Test Program INT-A 000 to see both OSC's are working.

They they are, restore the factory sounds and your custom sounds to memory and test again.

They they are not, call KORG because there is likely to be ha hardware fault in your Triton.

You may be using programs that have been edited for use with your RAM samples. If you do not reload the factory bank programs (.PCG files), the non-working programs will be the ones that have been edited to access your samples in RAM (which are not loaded).

Try loading the factory programs to see if that helps.

I believe he is saying that data from the ROM assigned to OSC 1 is not working.

I'd agree with Goom here

Sounds like you've created programs with one of the oscillators being a sample in the RAM banks and then not loaded the samples again after switching off.

The TEX sampler memory is volatile,so any sampling you have done needs to be saved prior to switching off,or you'll lose the sample data

if you create any programs that use your own samples If you edit and save the programs, next time you switch on,you will have to load the samples first
the programs will still be in memory but any samples you assigned to them will not sound unless you reload them from your CF,hence why Osc 1 is probably not sounding, because you assigned it to a sample you created in the RAM bank,if you switch it back to a ROM bank it will sound.
