Can I get 16 ins out of my D-1600....lightpipe?

Post by Compound Sound Studios »

I have a D-1600 recorder that I would like to record with tonight live at my club.
A friend is bringing me a Beringer A/D 8 pre unit that he told me has light pipe......
Can I use the 8 ins (1-8) on the unit as well as his unit via lightpipe (9-16) to recorded 16 tracks at once??

Any thoughts would help...it happens tonight!!!!

THANKS!!!

If I had two D-1600's could I sync and link them???

I'm trying to get 16 in's without ripping apart an old ADAT rig at my home studio.....

Yep-designate 1 to be the master-the other the slave.
Set the master to be MTC master, the slave to MTC Slave. Midi cable from Master midi out to slave midi in.
Master outs of the slave to inputs 1+2 on the master, set as sub ins.
Now-that only gives you 14 inputs. You don't really need to monitor the slave whilst recording-you can use cans-so disregard putting the master outs into inputs 1+2.
Put the slave tracks to record ready and press the record button-it goes into a waiting state. When you press record and play on the master both machines will start.
