NanoKontrol and Logic 8

Post by Viv Savage »

Yesterday I got the controller and downloaded the Logic set. Wrote the set to the controller (Open file and Communication > Write Scene Set). Copied the .cs file to the indicated location, opened Logic to verify NanoKONTROL was in the Control Surfaces. All okay, so far.

Yet Logic doesn't react to me pushing the Play button. I see Logic receiving a momentary MIDI event on CC#45 (down 127, up 0).

What am I missing? Or doing wrong?

Thanks.

solved Logic nano Kontrol problem

Make sure:
go into editor and under scene 1 enable midi channel 1, the other three just leave as "scene"

Scene 1 is the first left square just above the word "KORG" .. There are two to the left and squares above each of the sliders... "---"

This is the real solution:
1. go into preferences (Logic)
2. control surfaces
3. at the bottom "Controller Assignments..."
4. Expert View
5. Click on every Control (Scene 1 Goup-7 Knob etc.) and enable #6(below)
6. to the right under "Input Message" Midi Input: then select nanoKONTROL SLIDER/KNOB
before I changed that ... it had selected my m-audio firewire 410

7. voila.. it worked for me..

Hey.... You just mailed this to me

Well, as I said in the reply, I'll try it. It looks simple and something I hadn't done.

Thanks so far.

Logic controlled

Post by zazou »

Hi guys,

I followed the steps which dutchwolves clearly described but I am still at the point of getting Logic receiving a momentary MIDI event on CC#45 (down 127, up 0) when pressing the nano Kontrol.

Actually I understood all the described steps except step 5. What actually do you mean with that dw?

Kun je het mischien in het nederlands uitleggen?:D

I have an extra problem on this one: I use an NanoPad as well. I installed my NanoKontrol with the instructions on the site and all worked well, but when I connect my NanoPad, Logic changed all my settings from the nanoKontrol to NanoPad.
When changing the settings again to 'NanoKontrol' it doesn't work anymore, until I redo the entire setup prodedure for the Kontrol.
Any suggestions to fix this and make them work together. (I have he NanoKey as well, and that might give trouble too)

I'm having the same problem with my Novation keyboard... I plug it in after plugging in my nanokontrol and BOOM.. there go all the Nanokontrol assignments, switched over to the novation!! How on earth do you make it lock so that it keeps the controllers on the Kontrol locked to it and not able to switch around to whatever the surface you plug in after??
