Post by mongooseman005 »

Is there anywhere i can read up information to help me with the R3?
Any tutorial Websites that will help me figure it out.

Also, is it able to Loop sounds? Like record bass chords (loop them) and then play over them with lead?

Any help is much appreciated thanks very much

Have you installed the editor librarian software? That's the first step to learning how the R3 works.

It can't loop or record anything. You'll need other gear for that, like a looper, sequencer, or DAW software.

R3 was my first synth too, and those were my first questions.

don't let the demo songs fool you, like the above poster said, you're gonna need other gear to make a song with your R3.

Read your owners manual. It's very informative; it will give you a better understanding of how to program.

Download the editor librarian software as well as latest usb-midi drivers available.
R3 Downloads section is full of great patches to load your R3 w/ using the editor software. Definitely check out the MS2000 & Microkorg patches.

If you want to record your synth, Select one of the many DAWs (digital audio workstations)available(might I suggest ableton?) and get yourself an audio interface.
Audio interfaces provide your gear with a higher quality while cutting away at latency issues. They're pricey, but they're worth it.

Welcome to the beginning of a long and beautiful journey.

I use an mbox 2 mini and i have a mixer connected into it so I can have more outputs than the mbox2 mini provides.

It's working very well.
