Although I don't think it needs one, I too would like to know this.
I'm slightly OCD so I would like to switch it on and get the default settings.
Hang on,,, Will this happen If I switch it on without the card? No it won't, I've just tried it. It booted with the last proggy.

All I can find is reset instructions for previous kaoss pads - but am curious if the original poster has done the 2.0 OS upgrade. That may swab the decks so to speak - but also don't see how bad the thing could really be that messed up due to 'operator error'.
Edit: Try just firing up the kp3 editor on your computer and doing a transmit without any data files loaded - the configuration there is how mine came from the factory. That'll take care of what you power up to [0] - if you really wanted to start clean you'd want to format the sd card on top of the editor thing too.

so, I emailed korg, and they got back pretty fast, thumbs up!

here goes;

'Hi

The reset for the KP3 can be done either by loading the preset file from the editor or by holding button 1,2 and sampling whilst powering on. Then press button 'D'. Then power off then on.

Hope this helps.

Regards'

I mentioned it wasn't in the manual so who knows, maybe they'll have it in mind for the future!
