Looking at this : http://www.pckey.netsons.org/
It reminds me more of the OpenLabs products than the Oasys.

Sorry, but to me it looks like home made conversion with a PC forcibly stuffed inside. Not very promising.
Using Google translate on the page verifies this.

LOL @ that thing!!! Look at the back in the video. Is that the DVD/R CDr/RW? Isn't that handy to have the CD ROM on the back of your synth...a new marvel in convenience. It makes me wonder why the buttons and knobs are located on the top and not underneath. I tell ya, these design gurus have thought of everything. Why didn't Korg think to put the CD Burner on the back of the Oasys?!?! I have to go watch the video again for a few more giggles.

Bwahahahahaha! Is this the Oasys rival ??
Wow. I was expecting something different from the title...

As most of us are aware, The OASYS has many positive features over "a PC stuffed into a keyboard" not the least of which is a dedicated, lean OS for maximum use of computing power dedicated completely to audio. My dedicated softsynth PC with its 3ghz cpu cant even begin to touch on many of the the performance aspects of the "Big O".

Best Regards, James

We've been doing really good for a long long time!!Ultimate Dj wrote:haha I know right? If this is the closest 'rival' to the Oasys...we're doing REALLY good!![]()
It's been four years since the introduction of the Oasys, and no competition yet. That's quite astonishing.

Man, that's ugly !
Anybody could build a keyboard hooked up to a computer mother board, with a sound card, and put it in a wooden case...
But it is the software of the Oasys that is really unique, and that's what you pay for in the end.
And then the Korg guys did a great job with the design also. It's one of the best looking synths on the planet, I think.

Exactly! and especially with a technology item where everything is being surpassed the moment they come out. Its really quite a feat of Korg to be that far ahead of everyone else.
