Hooking up guitar to kp3????!?!?!?!?!?!?
Hi I just bought the Kaoss Pad and i own a guitar. I was wondering how to connect my amp to the to the Kaoss Pad Kp3. I tried to hook it up but it didnt work please help!!I have the micro cube by roland amp. The jacks that are at the back are an 8mm aux in jack,a phono aux in jack and then a rec out/phones phono jack. I am wondering what kind of cable i need and which jack to connect it to.Thanks

It will work best if you amp has an FX loop, and you can plug it in there.
Otherwise it is not really possible with a guitar amp. anyway you will need quarter inch to phono jack adaptor or a lead which has one on one end and one on the other.

I used the "mic" input direct from my guitar amp. Did me ok.

Blah di blah blah
I really appreciate the help guys, I got this issue fixed thanks, if you have the time can you please read my topic on how to update the 2.0 software with vista I'm completely stuck as the instructions are not clear(for me at least) I've included photos to, I would greatly appreciate it, again thanks for everything very helpful!
You can also get a 1/4"-to-dual-RCA cable at Radio Shack. This works for me -- nicely balanced sound and no harshness, which often happens when plugging a guitar into the mike input.

Re: Hooking up guitar to kp3????!?!?!?!?!?!?
Hey mate. I've been using KPs for a few years now. On my KP2 I just plugged the guitar jack (1/4" male) from my effects pedal into the MIC in jack in front of the KP2. Thing is, I play a lot of loop music, and this was before my Loopstation, so I had to plug in and unplug my mic, guitar and bass into that little MIC jack all the time. 3 months of that and the jack broke. I since opened it up and fixed the MIC in, but it has a lot of plastic parts and if you plug a guitar directly in there it is bound to abuse the KP a bit.MickyMau5 wrote:Hi I just bought the Kaoss Pad and i own a guitar. So, do yourself a favour and buy a cheap Behringer mixer (or some other cheap one from Craigslist or eBay) and plug your guitar (from the amp if you like) into the mixer, where you can also plug in a microphone or other sound sources, and you can plug the mixer into the back of the KP3. I have a setup now with MIDI guitar, effects pedal-guitar, bass guitar, microphone, KP2 and KP3 all hooked up to a little mixer that only cost me $15!
Best of luck!

i've used my kp2 and kp3 with a bass guitar, and it didn't sound too bad, and i assume it will be the same for the mini-kaoss.
remember, the kaoss pads weren't made for guitars or bass, but rather for electronic music, which has a lot of high and a lot of low notes. so some of the effects may sound better on a guitar, some of them better on a bass. it is all a matter of toying around and finding "your" sound.

HI!
I seem to be having a problem with my Kp3/ guitar hook up, that isnt common since i cant find anybody that has ahd the same problem.
My Kp3 cant handle the guitarsignal. The clean tone gets distorted as f**k. Ive tried it throu my fx loop (fender tube amp), straight amp line in and amp line out-->mixer. The map-lineout-mixer solution made the effects sound alright.. but i want to effect my guitarsignal in real time. Not hear borh clean signal and effects.
Im thinking; could it be the cables? (1/4 - RCA) or.. is it possible to calibrate the Kp3 in some way? ..or maybe something is defect?
Any suggestions would help!! Thanks!!!
