I want to use NanoKontrol with R3. Help!

Hi there,

I´ve got this problem:
I´d like tio use the NanoKontrol in conjunction with my R3 to enhance sound
tweaking with the nanoK´s numerous knobs & faders. I know, that it works by using a
Software Sequencer (i.e Logic, Cubase) and routing the midi from nano to R3.
But is there a way to connect Nano to R3 without a sequencer, maybe just with
the settings in the preferences of both. I tried to do this, but got frustrated very soon.
Any help would be much appreciated

No, there is no way to directly use the nanoKontrol with ANY hardware synth. It only works with a computer as the host. The R3 can only be controlled by hardware midi or by USB-midi from a computer host.

Sorry, i didn´t make myself clear, what i meant to say is:
Of course i want to use the nanoK with my computer (usb)
but without having to open a software Sequencer for midi routing.
Just by means of midi routings done in the preferences of
the editors of each.

If you use a Mac, look for an app called MidiKeys; it's free and routes MIDI and USB in and out of your computer without having to open anything else. If you're using a PC, I'd be really surprised if there weren't about 50 equivalent apps for the PC.
