microkorg xl patches?

Post by fierlion »

I was just playing with the microkorg xl in my local guit cent. It apparently uses the radias sound engine. I'm hoping that korg/y'all post the xl patches. They would be freakishly useful. I know we all disliked the radias factory set. If anyone gets around to converting the xl patches let us all know, eh?

The software editor of the microkorg xl includes the converted patches of MS2000, MS2000B and the original microkorg. FYI

I wonder if these are easily converted to .rdl format--the RADIAS also has the ms2000/microKORG patches. I'd like to use the XL patches on my RADIAS. I could just do it manually but I don't actually own an XL so I can't a-b them.

Converting from MicroKorg XL -> Radias would be a similar exercise to converting from R3 -> Radias (I have written that one!). I looked already at the XL, but don't have the necessary docs/hardware to write the software at the moment.

Thanks for the reply Daz. I love everything you've already done for all us RADIAS fans. :)

I'm bumping this because I would definately like to get the MKxl presets into my R3. Those presets suits my style of music better than the R3 presets. If anyone has the MKxl and can provide the software preset parameter values from the software editor particularly for the r&b/hip hop, jazz/fusion & vintage synth genres I can just plug them into the R3 software editor. I'll be posting this in the mk forum too.

I would also love the XL patches for my R3. Let us know if you get anything from the MK forums, jbotz05!

I just downloaded the MKxl software editor and it came with the factory presets. If anyone has any success with them, lmk.

I also just downloaded the MKXL sound editor. My thought is this: I'll open up a program in the MKXL editor, and try my best to copy the settings into the R3 editor. Can anyone verify that this would work with any degree of accuracy? If so, would someone want to split the work with me? :D

that should work. Not sure about the R3/XL on DWGS compatibility though. that was the main problem between R3 and Radias.

I would love to help but don't have a R3... I might try it out for the Radias though :)

90% of the DWGS are the same between the R3 and MKXL. They mostly are rearranged with slightly different names. The ones that are completely different like the acoustic piano on the MKXL won't translate, of course. The R3->Radias is a closer match, though.
