WIndows 7 RC

Post by Sharp »

Hi all.
Has anyone else installed the RC edition of Windows 7.

http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/04/wind ... nsumption/

I installed it yesterday and I have to say that I'm really enjoying it. I love how the taskbar works. Windows Live Mail works better than Windows Mail too. Very nice, although you have to download Windows Live Mail seperatly. Seems Microsoft are not including all the additional apps within their OS anymore.

It's actually a good move too. No more lawsuites against microsoft for competition laws.

Regards.
Sharp.

I installed the 32 bit beta, almost 2 months ago.
It's nice.
It allocates the RAM usage, better, among other things.
I may try the 64 bit version before it expires.

I'm finding the 64Bit miles faster than my 32Bit vista install on the same machine.
I've got my 3D rendering applications running away in the background right now rendering and my PC still feels snappy.

Can't believe they are going to allow us to use the RC edition until March 1st for free.

March 1st 2010? Blimey, I'm installing it.

Was intending to buy it on release due anyway to all the thumbs ups it has been given right across the intarweb! I like Vista, but it is slooowww, consequently I end up using my XP partition (as part of dual boot setup) instead.

Looks like MS is trying to halt the Apple pandemic, and slam dunk Snow Leopard at the same time.
