To All the "Reason" padKONTROL users... and maybe

Post by justsa »

I'll like to know tips and tricks that you use to make the usage of the padKONTROL easier with Reason.
(everything to keep a workflow with hands on the pk and not having to go to the cpu keyboard and mouse.)

You sure know that KORG didn't bother programming remote files for support with Reason.
Maybe because they didn't want to dictate to anybody how to use ur pK with reason and let us configure it freely, but I don't think this xcuse is relevant. :P
So I'd like to know from u people out there ur tweaks.

- Do you build scenes specific for each instrument in Editor librarian ?
(one Expl : http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=43401
- Do you use a third party software like midi-ox, Bome, NativeKontrol??
- or Are u from the tideous and persevering kind that (like I started to do ) decided to write their own remote files for the PK ?

or anything else I just want to compile a Database of them.

 PS : don't talk to me about A-live now.I know, it's so intuitive and I can rewire it with reason. I just didn't learn as much yet to be at ease with it.

Thanks Y'all! [/u] :P

DO YOU MEAN NANO PAD?

Post by fedo »

If you mean Nano Pad, basically thought for drums, there is no scene specific to Reason that I am aware of. Are you using it for drums? What I have done is program a scene with pads going from 1 to 10 for Redrum that respond to Middle C through A, including flats (black keys). You still have 2 spare pads, the I usually do not use.
If you are planing on using it for other sounds, then you can cover a full ocatve, with all 12 tones with the pads. Maybe you can use other scenes for higher or lower octaves.
I usually use it with Logic running reason through rewire, to spice up the drums. The rest of the sounds I play with kbd.
Still, if you are referring to Nano Kontrol, I have not been succesful in trying to assign sliders to move mixer sliders or the knobs or buttons to control any of the reason instruments.
