I wish to max-out the RAM, and have read quite a lot about how and what. As a consequence I need some answers from someone with experience in these matters. So far, I know...3 x 32Mb EDO 60ns 72-pin non-parity, 11-bit addressing, 16 chips per module.
1) Do Triton Studios actually have 'gold' RAM slot connections? I've read a reference to this, but can't be certain when looking at the slots.
2) How important is 'gold-to-gold' RAM connection? I've read about and understand the gold-to-tin corrosion issue. Is mixing gold with tin a huge issue, or simply 'magnified' in order to sell gold-pinned RAM, as opposed to tin-pinned?
3) Is RAM that is sold 'new', actually old, but un-used? Or, is all suitable RAM probably used (rescued from old computers)?
4) What voltage is correct? I see 3.3v and 5.0v offered.
5) Any other information which is useful to know when maxing up to 96Mb.
I'm in New Zealand, and need to get this correct first time, as returning unsuitable RAM to a seller on the other side of the world is not easy.
GREAT forum, by the way. I've learned a lot! Thanks
