Want more sounds !

Post by spinoria »

I really like my M3 but I still think there are to few programs and samples available for the M-series.

Are there any development on new expansions and more sound libraries?

I would like to have more keyboard player sounds like more keyboards and pianos.

Also I would like to see more synth sounds and industrial synth sounds. The reason for investing in the M3 was that I was hoping for a lot of libraries and development but it seems like Korg has forgot the people that already bought the M3.

Hi Spinoria,

You should go over to www.karma-lab.com and read the M3 Wiki section. That will tell you all about the extra sounds that are available. You are obviously missing out on a lot of the freebies out there, many from Korg themselves!!

Best regards,

I guess there are some free libraries out there but I was thinking of the USB-expansions.

Will there be any future expansions coming from Korg?

What do you mean by USB expansions? There are libraries, yes, thats what
the XPanded is for, another few hundreds MB of samples and few hundreds
PCG Programs for those, after you upgrade.

The XPanded OS2 release was a huge bonus containing thousands of new sounds samples and combis for existing M3 users. The very recent release of 32 ProVintageKeys Pianos programmed by Korg's Jack Hotrop was a welcome surprise for most people. Don't you think the Korg M3 developers deserve a holiday

Also its worth noting that the M3's sampler can load Akai libraries and Sound Font based sounds too. There's a wealth of sounds out there that can be loaded.

Not to mention the fun that can be had with building your own sounds from the ground, the M3 has all the building blocks built in. I'm not sure now, but I remember reading before the 'Supercharge' update that there were multisamples in the M3 that weren't being used in current programs or combis - is that still true? There may be some hidden gems there still.

Great news about the Akai samples. I didn't know that. Will Akai samples go right in to a program or do you have to do some mapping?

About the 2.0 and the Xpanded sounds I think it's great but I really hope Korg isn't satisfied with this. I was hoping for many expansions to choose from.

Can anyone recomend some good Akai samples that contains some nice metallic sound and hits. Also more hammond organs with leslie would be appreciated.

Agreed... don't just rely on sounds from others--program your own!

M3 has a nice auto-conversion tool for Akai samples if you connect a USB CD drive to it. It loads the multisample with full looping and key assignments, and creates a program with velocity sensitivity, EG, and other very basic settings. You would have to go in and edit the program's parameters to make it sound nice, but it's definitely a huge step up from loading in wave files because you don't have to loop samples or assign them to keys.

EXB Radias sounds

Post by gypsyfolklore »

Hi Ultimate DJ--

I have the EXB Radias card in my M3 and all I could find on the Korg Site was 1 bank of free exb Radias sounds availabke for download
--- that auto loads on Program User F --- Radias V2 RDSv2_Daz.pcg

There is a duplicate version for M50 but all I could find is 1 bank for M3. Can you tell me the file name of any other M3 sound bank for EXB Radias Card that is available.

Hi Rodger,

Sorry that I'm not Ultimate DJ, but here's the info you requested:

You need to be running the EXB RADIAS driver software v2, and XPanded OS v 2.02, are you at those versions already?

Here are the available Radias Combis and Programs

First the ones at www.korg.com:

http://www.korg.com/services/downloads/ ... DCOMV2.zip

http://www.korg.com/uploads/Download/RD ... 520000.zip

Now the ones from Dan Stesco, many of which are for EXB-RADIAS:

http://www.karma-lab.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14797

Now the free Combis from Qui Robinez, but these are all EDS based.

The links shown in this thread do not seem to work for me:

A Forbidden access message appears

Examples:

http://www.korg.com/services/downloads/ ... DCOMV2.zip

http://www.korg.com/uploads/DownloadRDS ... 520000.zip

Can anyone show me where to find the EXB Radias files to download.

Just go to www.korg.com, select M3 and support tabs, then find the files which are listed there.
