I have a very big problem with connecting my X-50 via the usb cable to serve as a midi controller in Cubase ...
I dont need it to produce sound, just MIDI info ... Cubase will be making the sounds ...
I tried with the VST plugin installed (the one i got on the CD with the keyboard) ... I tried without it ... nothing works ...
Anyone???

Hi,
I'm always saying this, but, Have you registered the KORG driver with the device by running the utility at:
Start > Programs > Korg > Korg USB-MIDI Driver > Install Korg USB-MIDI Device
you have to do this in order to get windows to use the KORG driver, otherwise it incorrectly tries to use its own driver.
If you are trying to just use the X50 as a controller, you shouldn't need to use the VST. just create a MIDI track, set its input to whatever your X50 USB virtual input shows up as... or leave it on 'all inputs' and play.
Make sure first that the notes you play are lighting up / recording to the piano roll. if it is but you don't hear anything, make sure you have a VSTi loaded in the device rack (or on later versions of cubase, in an instrument track), and that your midi channel is routed to that VSTi's input (not necessary for an instrument track)
