Do you think Pa800/2X (or Tritons) can handle virus easily? I don't think so because the environement is not Windows, Pa800 O.S seems to be based on Linux or so...I just wonder if that is possible or not Thanks.
Ho Nor. I wouldn't worry too much. The code that you refer to was originaly based on Unix Common Object File Format. It was taken over by Microsoft to bridge the gap between Dos and NT based Systems.
Microsoft migrated to the PE format with the introduction of the Windows NT 3.1 operating system. All later versions of Windows, including Windows 95/98/ME, support the file structure. The format has retained limited legacy support to bridge the gap between DOS-based and NT systems. For example, PE/COFF headers still include an MS-DOS executable program, which is by default a stub that displays the simple message "This program cannot be run in DOS mode". PE continues to serve the changing Windows platform. Some extensions include the .NET PE format, a 64-bit version called PE32+/PE+ and a specification for Windows CE.
Your friend is very knowlegable however I still don't think that the pa OS can pick up a Virus as the vast majority of Virus are written to specifically attack Windows OS and Microsoft. Also, no-one has the knowlege other than korg as to how their OS is constructed.
That's about all I can say as I'm no expert in this area but how would a Virus be picked up on Windows OS and then transferred to pa. We would have be running an OS in direct relation to Windows to be targetted. IMHO it will never happen.
I think a more likely target would be the Wersi OAS System as that is directly linked to Windows. Have a friend with that system and he's never heard of a virus attack on a Wersi, so, very little chance with the korg.

...............Microsoft OS on Korg......................
