I can't save, help

When i go to media, all options are grayed out

yes i have a flash drive connected so i can save a song i made

Is your media formatted on the M3? and does your media contain U3 autorun - if so delete the U3 then format.

try going to the "Media Info" tab on the right, and then select "Scan USB device" from the drop-down menu.

Just a note - some of my flash cards were not recognized with OS 1.x, but after Xpanded upgrade I can use all my flash cards without any problems. So if you are on OS 1.x an upgrade to Xpanded may also help.
