use microKorg as effects board for guitar

Post by wigging »

Does anyone know how I can connect an electric guitar or bass to the audio-in jacks of the microKorg to use it as an effects pedal?

Or could I run the line-out from my guitar amp to the audio-in of the microKorg to add the effects?

It would be awesome if I can get this to work. Thanks.

I want to do the same. I tried the line input going into the back where the Vocoder goes, but it was not loud enough. Probably need a preamp.

Here is a guy on YouTube using his MK for an amp:

Hi Guys, The MicroKorg Audio in jacks require a Line level input to operate properly, which is a lot louder than an instrument level from a guitar/bass.
You will need a preamp of some sort to boost the signal up to the correct level/impedance.

Yu could also use something like a POD or similar.

I hope this helps!

Actually, the MK has a Line/Mic switch on the back, and you can use the 1/4" Dynamic mic input. No guarantees that it will work with all guitars, but electric guitars with a humbucker pickup, or an acoustic guitar with active electronics should work. It would be better to use a guitar amp with a line out, so that you could make use of any distortion/overdrive that the amp has built-in.
