I'm considering buying a microKORG in the coming months; I've had recording software as a birthday present for almost a year and am looking to get into electronic music. Limited funds has brought me to the microKORG, along with videos I have seen of guitarists (as I am a guitarist before a keyboard player) using the synth as an amp. I do have a few questions though.
What would be the best midi interface to get? Would I be able to interface the vocoder into the recording program?
If I did use the microKORG as an amp, would such sounds be picked up by a midi interface?
I'm sorry if these are stupid questions (I am sure they are), but this being my first venture into electronic music, these are topics I have little to no idea about.
Thanks for the help

MIDI-interface is used to play synthesizer from computer or play computer instrument via synthesizer. Basically it is all about entering information about notes transferred in digital form, no actual sound involved.
To make guitar transfer these MIDI note messages special MIDI pickups are used and possibly some additional hardware (I haven't ventured into this yet, but I think it needs pitch to MIDI converter). So synth by itself can't change sound it 'hears' into MIDI-notes.
As an guitar effect microKorg is not really an option - you can make some effects out of it, but sound will not be the best and will be very hard to operate (you have to play synth and guitar at the same time!). So any dedicated guitar effects processor is a lot, lot better choice.
