Do you select the sound to play for recording before you press the SEQ button or do you select the sound after you press the SEQ button? This whole area is a bit confusing to me.
If I'm suppose to select the sound after I press the SEQ button, how and where do I do this.
the sequencer is actually like a 16-part combi mode. it isn't just a bunch of MIDI messages in a sequencer - it is so much more than that.
some of us use the sequencer mode for organized live performance sets, multitimbral operation, and other things that aren't as easy in combi mode.
You can set the program for each track, you can set its MIDI channel (timbres set to the same channel will play at the same time regardless), keyzones, send external program changes, use the arpeggiator, sequencer, mix, assign and route effects (kinda a necessity as choosing a program will not give you its effects. the TR can only process one insert and two master effects, plus the master EQ).
you select the current timbre to record/play on at the bottom of the page (i think) where by default it will say T01.
programs are selected in the Prog 1-8 and 9-16 tabs, and you can mix them in the mix tabs.
outputs and effects are assigned in the IFX: Bus page (reached through the menu button, where you will also find pages for everything else, just like when building your own combi).
