Sonar Producer and Triton Studio

Post by carib909 »

I hope you can help me here. I am using Sonar 8 Producer edition with a Korg Studio. I re-loaded factory sounds to be sure, and still find that when I select a sound in Sonar, such as Bank A Instrument 001 (Stereo Piano), Sonar changes the program on the Triton to GM002. How can I get the program to select the correct instrument on the Triton?

It shouldn't do that. Never tried it with Sonar, but in Pro Tools, you just load the patch list first( once and forever) , and then you could have access to the entire list with no problem. My other guess would be that you might have some GM sounds inserted in that particular midi track that you're working on, and everytime you play the track to hear it with Bank A instrument 001, that GM 002 sound pops up. Always make sure that you don't have any unwanted sounds hiding in there.

In the GLOBAL section under System Preferences there is a field called Bank Map. Make sure you have it set to KORG, not GM2.
