EXB-PCM08 not recognized :(

Hi, friends.

I purchased a 2nd hand Karma V2 Workstation with EXB-PCM08 board installed. The keyboard is working 100%, but the expansion don´t.

I tried to change the EXB from slot 2 to 1 and vice-versa. Nothing changed. The board is not working.

I perceived that EXB-PCM08 is not showed in Karma display when it´s turned on. When editing some program, the samples from EXB are not listed. So, I think this expansion board is damaged.

Anyone have some idea?

Just a couple of things to try...

Make sure OS 2 is installed

Try cleaning the EXB contacts very carefully. I would obtain some advice regarding how to do this (e.g. from a computer service centre) - there are substances/cleaners that can be safely used (usually some form of alcohol like Isopropyl Alcohol) - HOWEVER PLEASE GET SOME ADVICE FIRST - it may be that the contacts are a little dirty or greasy.

1) The OS is already 2.0.0.

2) I followed your instructions, but unsuccessfully. The contacts of the board and the slots are totally clean, but even so, the card is not recognized by the keyboard. I think that is really damaged.

Would your local Korg retailer let you try another EXB board so at least you can know if it is the Karma or the board that is faulty???

The expansion did not work.
The solution was to return the card to the seller.

Yes. The problem is resolved.
I will not use expansions in Karma.
The keyboard works perfectly by itself.

Please review and consider the "Chemistry volumes 1,2, & 3" and "Reincarnation" combi' diskettes - I have them and they are awesome
