Electribe Power Supply

Post by plexxx »

I'm hoping to pickup an electribe EMX-1 on my next trip to the US as the price is USD$150 cheaper there. Problem is the power supply, I'm in Hong Kong and the voltage here is 240. Does the Korg have a 120/240 power supply?

If not anyone know where I can grab a 240V power supply for a US unit?

I haven't checked for Electribes specifically, but I've had some luck in the past at Radio Shack and Best Buy when I need adapters for overseas travel. Might start at those two places.

Well, i don't know about the usa, but the only info i can give you, is that my EMX-1 and ESX-1, both european models, have power supply that is 230V specific/only.

The EMX/ESX power supply uses a proprietary DIN connector so, i don't think you can find that in the usual aftermarket power supply plus adapters combos.

But i don't see this as a problem. You can always buy a original korg adapter from your country, or even better, keep the usa one , and just get a 240V to 110V converting transformer.

I have a 500W step-down transformer. Anyone know how many watts the electribe ps is?

3000 ma = 1 amp.... watts = volts * amps

9*3 = 27 watts of peak power usage. Chances are you won't get very close to that.
