Memory Overflow error when loading from SD Card

Post by keithw99 »

I have TR Workstation (61-key) with EXB-SMPL and I have a multisample file (.KSC) that I load from SD card for my live performances. However, a couple of days ago, I got a "memory overflow" error when loading the .KSC file. It has always loaded in the past, so I'm not sure what's causing the error. I haven't changed any configuration settings or altered the internal memory in any way (at least not that I know of). Some troubleshooting steps I've taken so far:
  • - I checked the SD card -- it's healthy and all the files are still there.
    - I thought that maybe the internal memory had been corrupted somehow, so I reset to factory settings (using the GLOBAL -> Load/Preload Data option) -- still get the memory overflow error when loading the .KSC file.
    - I tried loading other .KSC files that have worked in the past and they too give me a memory overflow error.
    - On bootup, the screen shows that I still have the 16MB SIMM card in case that means anything.
Any ideas? My band relies on these samples for our live performances and it's already ruined one; I'd like to fix this before our next show this Thursday. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

just a thought but you should check that the memory is seated firmly, or rather just reseat it.

Sounds like it may be a bad connection, if you're certain that you're not doing anything else differently.

If the file is smaller than 16mb, it should fit!

hi

maybe the ram its corrupted, its not rare that old ram fail, remember that this kind of ram its outdated long ago, its 2000-2003 technology

check it installing a new ram.. or if you have 2 chips try it each one separately.

also you could test it with a ubuntu/suse/fedora/etc... xD live cd linux distribution (memcheck) in a PC that use the same kind of ram

bye ;)
