After all these years a possible bug?

Post by althemusicwizard »

I've had the Trinity for a couple of days now....really like it

I've got to grips with most things, but there's something in the sequencer that doesn't seem to work as outlined in the manual.

If I want to vary the tempo in a song, I could manually enter the tempo changes using P5 of the sequencer page and defining 'MTR' as the edit track using EVENT EDIT.
However the manual states that you can also record the tempo changes in on the fly using the tempo indicator and the Value buttons or data slider. There is an intricate way of arming the MTR (Press 'REC/WRITE', then you can select 'REC' in the TEMPO setting box (next to the actual Tempo Value).
When you press 'START/STOP' though, a message comes up saying ' No Rec Track selected'.

In fact the only way I could get it to work was by selecting one of the other tracks 1-16 as the armed track, and then mysteriously the data ended up on the MTR track (I found this out by going into EVENT edit and looking at the data that was recorded). This has obvious drawbacks....notably that you can't use a pre-existing track otherwise you are in danger of wiping over that track. I didn't try it in 'OVERDUB' mode....I'll do that tomorrow. If it works in 'OVERDUB' mode and sends the data straight to the Master Track then that will be the obvious workaround.

I've searched the forum before posting this but couldn't find anything?......anybody using tempo changes to add lift to a song section?
